This year's World Book Day was a magical journey into the world of fairy tales where the children met a host of different characters, including the Wicked Queen in disguise, 3 little pig, Hansel, the woodcutter, Red Riding Hood and some elves, to name but a few.

The day began with an exciting house quiz that tested our knowledge of classic fairy tales, where the children and staff eagerly answered questions about fairy tale characters and stories. Fun was definitely had by all.

Throughout the day, each class explored a different fairy tale. Activities included interpreting tales in their own way (eg art, scripts, comics), writing their own version of a fairy tale and hunting for stories. The creativity didn’t stop there—crafty activities brought fairy tales to life with students making their own scenes out of biscuits and sweets and creating their very own gingerbread houses.
