The Great Big Get Together

Our Inclusion Ambassadors had an unforgettable experience at the Hertfordshire Development Centre during The Big Get Together Conference. The day was packed with engaging workshops and inspiring encounters, making it a truly memorable event.
In their first workshop with the National Online Wellbeing Services (N.O.W.S), the children explored the power of positive affirmations and the transformative impact of music on their mindset. They had the opportunity to experiment with unique instruments such as pan drums, quartz crystal bowls, and a Tibetan singing bowl.
A highlight of the day was meeting the Purple All Stars, a dance group of adults with learning disabilities. Our Inclusion Ambassadors were thrilled to join in a dance session, learning moves to a lively song about hand washing. This interaction was not only fun but also a powerful demonstration of inclusion and community spirit.
In their final workshop, our Inclusion Ambassadors collaborated with Retune, a local mental health and wellbeing charity. They learnt about Retune's SCALES system, which emphasises six key aspects of wellbeing: Sleep, Creative, Active, Listen, Earth, and Social. This holistic approach provided the children with valuable tools to enhance their mental health and wellbeing.
Our Inclusion Ambassadors have returned from the conference with newfound knowledge, skills, and memories that will stay with them for a long time. Their enthusiasm and positive energy were truly inspiring, and we look forward to seeing how they will continue to promote inclusion and wellbeing within our school community.
