JUnior Duke Award

As part of developing the whole child, we offer all our children the opportunity to take part in the Junior Duke Award. The aim of the award is to encourage independence, confidence, resilience and self-motivation as well as learning and practising a large variety of life skills.

Each level of the award has a selection of challenges and, to complete a level, the children need to finish a pre-determined number of these successfully.  These include skills such as First Aid, ICT, Eco awareness, Drama, Music, Sport and other life skills such as cookery, bed making and puncture repair.  The children provide evidence, e.g. photos which is shown to an assessor who will sign off the challenge.

On completion of a level, a well-earned certificate and pin badge is awarded. On completion of the Platinum Award, which takes place in Year 6,  the children celebrate with a celebratory tea party. To find out more about the award please visit the Junior Duke website

We have also hade the opportunity to take part in some of the Junior Duke World Championship events and come 1st place in know tying and for holding a plank position for the longest time.
