As part of our Design and Technology curriculum, we have had a very hands-on start to the Spring term. Inspired by our geography and history topics of Greece and Ancient Greece, we are creating a mosaicked frame from the raw materials. The children have simply had one 88cm piece of wood which they have had to cut into 4 equal parts. They then had to measure a perfect 45 degree angle followed by sawing it accurately. This incorporated our recent learning in maths too. Our wonderful children then glued their four pieces of wood onto a mdf board to make a photo frame. 

We can't wait to explore ancient mosaics to inspire the next part of the frames.
